A SWEET ROOM REFRESH
One of my favorite things about designing kids’ rooms is finding that sweet spot between where they are and who they’re becoming. That was exactly the goal when Cristin reached out to me about updating her 10-year-old daughter’s bedroom.
They were ready to let go of the “little girl” look, but weren’t quite sure what direction to go in next. Cristin told me she had no idea where to start—she just knew it was time for something that felt a bit more grown-up, without losing the charm and personality that made the space her daughter’s own.
FROM UNCERTAIN TO INSPIRED
Through ongoing conversations and shared inspiration, I helped them sort through ideas, clarify what both mom and daughter loved, and envision a space that could grow with her over time. We landed on a palette of soft blues, pinks, greens, and whites — delicate but not overly sweet. Floral elements and subtle bow details became the common thread that tied everything together, and from there this gorgeous room came to life.
The final room feels playful yet graceful, with plenty of room to sleep, do homework, and relax with friends — all while reflecting her evolving personality and style.
