Once used as a storage room, this space underwent a complete transformation into a cozy, traditional-inspired nursery full of character and warmth. Thoughtfully layered with textures and timeless details, it’s a perfect blend of function and personality.

FROM STORAGE ROOM TO SANCTUARY
I was honored when close friends of mine reached out for help designing their nursery when they were expecting their first baby. They already had beautiful taste, but like many first-time parents, felt overwhelmed and stuck when it came to pulling the space together. The room they wanted to use had been functioning as a large walk-in closet for years, and they knew it had potential, but needed guidance to bring it to life.
DESIGNING WITH PURPOSE IN A SMALL SPACE
Because the room was on the smaller side, we had to be intentional with layout and furniture selection. We maximized function with a vintage styled armoire for hidden storage and incorporated low bookshelves to keep books accessible as their baby boy grows. Each design choice prioritized both beauty and practicality.
We kept the palette light and calming with sage green walls, paired with cream and brown accents. The dark wood and gold furniture and 101 Dalmatians wallpaper brought a sense of whimsy while staying true to the couple’s more eclectic style. A boucle rocking chair added cozy texture and created the perfect corner for late-night snuggles.
A PERSONAL PROJECT WITH HEART
This nursery evolved over time into one of the sweetest and most intentional spaces I’ve had the joy of working on. It was especially meaningful getting to create it for friends I've known for years as they step into this exciting new chapter.
