LAUNDRY ROOM REFRESH
A Functional and Beautiful Laundry Room Transformation
This laundry room redesign was such a rewarding project, and it’s a great example of how even the most utilitarian spaces can become both beautiful and incredibly functional with thoughtful planning.
When this family reached out, they told me their laundry room felt small, underutilized, and lacking the storage they desperately needed. It was a space that worked against them rather than for them, and they knew it had so much more potential. Their goal was simple: create a laundry room that made everyday tasks easier while still feeling bright, welcoming, and cohesive with the rest of their home.
As with every project, we started by looking closely at how they used the space and what wasn’t working. They felt that valuable square footage was being wasted, so I approached the design with one goal in mind: fit smart storage solutions into every inch possible without overwhelming the room.
We selected Rivers Edge by Sherwin Williams for the cabinetry paint color, a soft and calming shade that instantly grounded the design while keeping the room feeling fresh and airy. The color brought just the right amount of richness without making the small space feel closed in.
Above the countertop, we added a neutral patterned wallpaper that completely transformed the open wall space. It brings texture, warmth, and personality to the room, creating a visual moment in a space that’s often overlooked. The wallpaper acts as the perfect backdrop to the cabinetry, adding character without competing with the function of the room.
From custom storage nooks to reorganized cabinetry, every detail was chosen to maximize efficiency while still prioritizing style. The result is a laundry room that not only works harder for this family but also feels like a place they actually enjoy being in - a small victory that can make everyday routines feel so much lighter.
This project is such a great reminder that no space is too small to be meaningful. With the right layout, materials, and finishes, even the most practical rooms in a home can feel intentional, beautiful, and uplifting.
If you’ve been dreaming about transforming a hardworking space in your home, I’d love to help bring that vision to life and create a design that makes your daily routines both easier and more enjoyable.
