Moving into a new home is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming when you're faced with blank walls, empty rooms, and countless design decisions. Our client had recently bought a new house in the Nashville area and wanted to transform their new house into a home that felt warm, welcoming, and uniquely theirs while staying within the decorating budget they had thoughtfully set aside.
Inspired by a cottagecore aesthetic, we worked together to create a home that balances timeless charm with practical, family-friendly design. From selecting paint colors throughout the home to installing custom shades and thoughtfully furnishing each room, every decision was made with intention, ensuring the finished spaces would feel cohesive, comfortable, and built to grow alongside their family.
BRINGING COTTAGECORE TO LIFE
The homeowners came to us with a Pinterest board full of inspiration but needed guidance translating those ideas into a home that felt authentic rather than overly themed. Together, we focused on creating spaces filled with warmth, natural textures, soft colors, vintage-inspired details, and meaningful personal touches.
Rather than chasing trends, we invested in pieces that would stand the test of time while mixing in budget-friendly finds that allowed us to maximize every dollar.
The result is a home that feels collected over time instead of decorated all at once.
A FAMILY-FRIENDLY LIVING ROOM
The living room needed to work hard for a busy family with young children. Durability was just as important as style.
Dark upholstered sofas provide a practical foundation that can withstand everyday life while still feeling sophisticated. Layered textiles, warm wood tones, cozy lighting, and thoughtfully selected accessories soften the space and create an inviting atmosphere.
One of our favorite finishing touches is the artwork created by a talented local Nashville artist, Martha Ray Willis Art, adding personality and supporting the local creative community.
A DINING ROOM FILLED WITH MEANING
Sometimes the most beautiful artwork doesn't come from a gallery.
The dining room features artwork created by the family's sons, transforming treasured memories into an intentional design element. Displaying their creations alongside carefully selected furnishings gives the room warmth and authenticity while celebrating what matters most.
It's these personal details that make a house truly feel like home.
BOYS’ BEDROOM WITH INDIVIDUAL PERSONALITY
While the homeowners wanted both boys' bedrooms to feel connected to the overall design of the home, they also wanted each child to have a space that reflected his own personality.
Using a similar design language throughout both rooms with warm colors, natural textures, and timeless furnishings we created spaces that feel cohesive while allowing each room to have its own unique character.
The result is two bedrooms that can easily evolve as the boys grow without needing complete redesigns.
ASHER’S ROOM
Designed to feel timeless yet playful, Asher's bedroom layers classic patterns with cozy textures to create a space that can grow alongside him. Soft blue walls set a calming backdrop, while plaid linens and mixed-texture bedding add warmth and dimension. Light wood furniture keeps the room feeling bright and approachable, complemented by black and cream accents throughout the dresser, curtain rod, and framed artwork for a polished, cohesive look.
One of the room's sweetest features is the built-in reading nook, a cozy corner made for quiet moments with a favorite book. Personalized touches, including a custom car display organizer, celebrate Asher's interests while keeping the space both functional and uniquely his.
EVERETT’S ROOM
Everett's bedroom embraces rich, earthy tones with a layered palette of greens that feels both calming and adventurous. Cream bedding softens the space, while a dark wood dresser grounds the design with warmth and character. Black accents including the bed frame, nightstand, blanket ladder, and curtain rod to add contrast and create a timeless foundation that will transition beautifully as he grows.
The reading nook serves as the heart of the room, featuring a deep leather chair that invites cozy afternoons spent reading or relaxing. Together with thoughtfully layered textures and natural finishes, the space feels collected, comfortable, and designed with longevity in mind.

One of the biggest priorities throughout this project was making every investment count.
Instead of focusing on expensive statement pieces, we prioritized thoughtful planning and strategic spending:
Painting the entire home to create warmth and cohesion

Installing shades and drapery throughout the home for both function and softness
