Every once in a while, a project comes along that perfectly captures why I love what I do. This colorful living room in one of Nashville’s most charming historic neighborhoods is one of those special projects - a true reflection of my design philosophy and the homeowners’ unique style.

When this family reached out, they wanted to bring new life into their historic home while honoring the character that made it so special. The goal wasn’t to reinvent the space entirely but to highlight its charm, make it feel warm and functional, and create a design that felt like them.

I’ve always believed that great design doesn’t come from following trends or sticking to one “look.” I don’t have a single signature style, and I don’t want one! Every home, every client, and every story is different, and that’s what keeps my work inspiring. Whether the goal is mid-century modern, eclectic, traditional, maximalist, or a thoughtful mix of it all, I want each project to reflect the people who live there.

EMPHASIZING ARCHITECTURAL CHARACTER

This home was the perfect canvas for that philosophy. With beautiful original details and strong architectural character, I wanted to design something that felt fresh and current without losing its timeless appeal. We layered in stunning primary colors, warm wood tones, and eclectic accents that bring out the home’s history while adding a sense of vibrancy and joy.

The mix of textures and materials: rich fabrics, natural wood, and bold artwork, adds depth and personality to the space. Every choice, from the furniture layout to the accessories, was made to balance function and beauty. It’s a room where you can easily imagine cozy evenings with family or lively gatherings with friends.

The finished design feels vibrant yet timeless… a space that tells a story and celebrates the homeowners’ personalities in every detail. It’s comfortable, expressive, and completely unique to them.
